He played for the Fresno Suns in 1988, hitting .208/.309/.340 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 41 games, striking out in 35 of 106 at-bats and fielding only .918. He finally made it to NPB in 1989, going 0 for 9 with 4 whiffs for Hanshin; he scored 3 runs so presumably pinch-ran on occasion.

He batted .267/.322/.419 with 5 home runs but 31 strikeouts in 105 AB. He backed up Marvell Wynne, Akinobu Mayumi and Satoru Nakano in the outfield that year. After going 1 for 1 in 1993, Miyauchi spent all of 1994 in the Japanese minors.

He resurfaced in 1995, playing in 16 games for the GCL Expos. He hit .233/.377/.349 with one home run, two RBI and three stolen bases, backing up Jeremy Ware in right field primarily. Overall, he hit .215/.330/.342 with 26 hits, five home runs, 12 RBI, 17 runs scored, 6 stolen bases, 23 walks and 43 strikeouts in the US and .269/.314/.407 with 39 hits, five home runs, 15 RBI, 29 runs scored, 2 stolen bases, 10 walks and 43 strikeouts in NPB.
