Biographical Information[edit]

Hector Corpas signed with the St. Louis Cardinals in May 2007. He was 0-1 with a save and a 6.49 ERA that year with the DSL Cardinals. Demoted to the VSL Cardinals, he had a 4-8, 4.92 record in 2008. He tied fellow Panamanian Angel Cuan and one other hurler for the Venezuelan Summer League lead in losses. Moved to the bullpen in '09, he was 3-2 with 9 saves, a 1.56 ERA and a WHIP under one for the VSL Cards. He placed second in the VSL in saves, one behind fellow Panamanian Manuel Campos. The right-hander went 0-1 with 17 saves and a 2.13 ERA for the 2010 Johnson City Cardinals, again with a WHIP under one. He easily led the Appalachian League in saves, eight more than anyone else. He then made the Panamanian national team for the 2010 Pan American Games Qualifying Tournament. In 2011, he had a 7.26 ERA in 30 relief appearances for the Quad Cities River Bandits to wrap up his professional career.

Overall, he was 9-14 with a 4.63 ERA in five seasons.
