Harry Assimakopoulos has played for the Greek national team. He first played in the 2005 European Championship, going 0 for 5 with a walk and a hit-by-pitch; he backed up Georgios Lempesis and Dimitrios Douros at 3B and handled four chances error-free. In the 2011 Baseball World Cup, he pinch-hit for former major leaguer Erik Pappas and whiffed against Juan Carlos Sulbaran in the last inning of a blowout loss to the Dutch national team. Against Puerto Rico, Assimakopoulos pinch-hit for Jason Zachos and struck out versus Miguel Mejia in the 9th. Versus Taiwan, he started at first base and hit 5th. He grounded out against Chun-Lin Kuo and Hao-Chun Chiu. He moved to third base in the 5th inning and finished the day with 5 putouts but also 1 errors in a loss.
