Biographical Information

Hao-Jan Chen played in the CPBL for 6 years.

Chen was drafted by the Brother Elephants in the third round of the 2011 CPBL Draft, and he hit .315/.388/.409 in the minors in 2012. He improved to .339/.402/.417 in 2013, and he led the minors in hits and batting. Chen then played 18 games with the big club in 2014, and he had a .162/.220/.270 batting line. He was demoted again after that season, and he hit .223/.281/.317 in the minors in 2015. Chen led the minor league in runs and slugging in 2016, and his batting line was .301/.391/.507. However, he only got 44 at-bats with the big club after the 2014 season, and he announced his retirement in 2018. He became a coach for the CTBC Brothers after retiring.

Overall, Chen had hit .215/.260/.312 with 20 hits in 6 seasons in the CPBL.
