Hans Augustinus

Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Hans Augustinus was on the Dutch national team that won the 1969 European Championship. He played for them in the 1970 Amateur World Series then won titles in the 1971 European Championship and 1973 European Championship. Backing up Paul Smid in the 1978 Amateur World Series, he was 3-for-5 with two walks, two runs and two RBI but allowed six steals in six tries. He was the Dutch MVP in the 1969 Haarlem Baseball Week (Jack Rumohr was the overall MVP). He played for Sparta, the dominant Hoofdklasse team of the era.
