Pitcher Jack Rumohr attended Western Michigan University and posted a 16-2 record over his college career. In 1957, he recorded a 0.47 ERA for the team, and in 1958, he was an All-American as the squad reached the College World Series (Western Michigan finished third in the nation that year). After graduation, he was signed by Baltimore Orioles scout Hal Newhouser. However, his pro career lasted two games after he suffered an arm injury. He lost his only decision in the minors, with the Bluefield Orioles. Rumohr later played for the amateur Grand Rapids Sullivans. He was named MVP of the 1969 Haarlem Baseball Week.

After his playing days, Rumohr was a baseball coach at Zeeland High School for 28 years.
