Gus Quattlebaum has been a scout. His brother Hugh Quattlebaum played in the minors.
He hit 36 home runs in college. Jim Beattie (whose wife taught at Quattelbaum's high school) helped arrange an internship in the Montreal Expos player development department in 1998. Quattelbaum then joined the New York Yankees as a scout in 1999; he moved on to the Baltimore Orioles and then Boston Red Sox. He signed Bronson Sardinha.
