The Regensburg Legionäre is a team in Bundesliga. They won their first title in 2008 thanks to three players who had minor league experience after starting their careers in Regensburg - Rodney Gessmann, Donald Lutz and Ludwig Glaser; in addition, Mike Bolsenbroek had pitched for Regensburg before playing in the minors but had US college experience as well. They won a second title in 2010, with a similar cast; Klaus Hopfensperger was MVP of the finals that year. In 2011, 2012 and 2013, they won again; Bolsenbroek was MVP of the 2012 finals and Matt Vance was finals MVP in 2013. The Legionäre have won two European trophies (1998 and 2006 European Cupwinners Cup Pool B). The team is currently known as the Guggenberger Legionäre named after a construction company.
