Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Greg Mahle moved through the minors quickly, despite not being a top-level draft pick. The Los Angeles Angels took him in the 15th round of the 2014 amateur draft and, after posting a 2.65 ERA and a 11.8 K/9 IP ratio in 37 1/3 frames his first year and a 3.26 mark with a 10.4 K rate in 2015, he reached the majors in early 2016. In his first appearance, against the Oakland Athletics on April 13th, he tossed one perfect inning and struck out a batter - Billy Butler. He would go on to throw in 24 games for the Angels in the 2016 season splitting time in Triple A Salt Lake. In 2017, 2018, & 2019, Mahle would split time between Double A Mobile and Salt Lake, ultimately not coming up to the majors again. He also played winter ball in Mexico for Aguilas de Mexicali in the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons. During the covid shortened year in 2020, Mahle played for the independent Sugar Land Lightning Sloths. In 2021 Mahle played for the Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos of the Mexican League.

He is the brother of Tyler Mahle.
