Biographical Information[edit]

Greg Mahlberg was a catcher for a total of 8 major leagues for the Texas Rangers - one in 1978 and seven in 1979. He went 2 for 18 at the plate, but one of his two hits was a homer, on September 3, 1979, off Floyd Bannister of the Seattle Mariners in a 4-1 win. In addition to his many seasons as a minor league manager, he was a coach for the 1982 Lynn Sailors and 1988 Charleston Wheelers.

He supposedly died in 2024, however this has not been verified.
