Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Greg Burns played in the minor leagues from 2004 to 2011. He was taken by the Florida Marlins in the 3rd round of the 2004 amateur draft, between pitchers Jason Windsor and Christian Garcia. Scout Robby Corsaro signed him.

Not offensively-inclined, Burns did possess speed, stealing 17, 20, 39, 11, 34 and 37 bags from 2005 to 2009, respectively. In 2009, he played for the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League, a post-season destination for top prospects. He reached Triple A for the first time in 2010, hitting .400 in five at-bats during his brief stay.

At all levels, including his time in the AZFL and Hawaiian Winter League, Burns hit .245/.347/.345 with 25 home runs, 209 RBI and 189 stolen bases in 766 games.
