Biographical Information[edit]

Glenn Sample was a college coach.

Sample was a third baseman and All-MAC linebacker at the University of Cincinnati. He turned down professional offers from both baseball and football to serve in the US military. He then was assistant football coach at Cincinnati before being head baseball coach from 1961-1981. He guided the school to three Missouri Valley Conference titles. His most notable product was Skeeter Barnes. He also coached wrestling and freshman football at Cincinnati.

Samnple also was official scorer for the Cincinnati Reds for 29 years.
