Biogrpahical Information[edit]

The brother of Brian Harper and uncle of Brett Harper, Glenn Harper played five years in the minor leagues, three as a position player and two as a pitcher.

Harper debuted in 1972 with the Marion Mets, going 3 for 20 with two walks, a double and a triple. He struck out 11 times. In 1973, Glenn hit .224/~.306/.342 for Marion and fielded .908 in 65 games in the outfield. Moving up to the Anderson Mets in 1974, Harper tied for the lead among Western Carolinas League outfielders with 14 errors. He batted .233/~.300/.332.

Converting to pitching in 1975, Harper pitched 25 games in relief for the Wausau Mets. He was 3-3 with one save and a 6.22 ERA. He walked 49 and threw 12 wild pitches in 55 IP. In 1976, Glenn concluded his career by playing with the Lynchburg Mets, where his record was 6-8 with 3 saves and a 5.23 ERA. He walked 61 and threw 11 wild pitches in 93 innings.
