Biographical Information[edit]

The son of Paul Gibson, Glenn Gibson began his professional career in 2006.

Glenn was 25-4 with a 0.55 ERA in high school, striking out 392 in 193 innings. As a senior, he went 8-1 with a 0.23 ERA and allowed only 7 hits and 11 walks in 61 innings while striking out 145. Baseball America chose him as a third-team high school All-American. He signed a letter of intent with the University of Central Florida. The Washington Nationals picked him in the 4th round of the 2006 amateur draft and he opted to sign with the Nats and scout Guy Mader.

Gibson pitched 3 games in 2006 with the Vermont Lake Monsters, allowing no runs and two baserunners (both hits) while striking out 7 in 6 innings. Baseball America rated him as Washington's #7 prospect and as having the top curveball in the system. In 2007, Gibson returned to Vermont. After 7 games, he is 3-0 with a 0.72 ERA, .82 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 37 2/3 IP.
