Biographical Information[edit]
German Leyva played in the Mexican League and CPBL.
Leyva played for the Monclova Acereros from 1988 to 1996, and he moved to the Yucatan Leones in 1997. After playing for the Saltillo Saraperos in 1998, Leyva went to the Veracruz Aguila and had a .312/.398/.422 batting line with 8 homers in 1999. He signed with the Uni-President Lions in the middle of the 1999 season, but he only played 7 games with a .227/.320/.227 batting line for them. Leyva hit .277/.388/.367 in Veracruz in 2000, then he slumped to .222/.304/.278 in 2001. He then played 42 games for the Tabasco Olmecas with a .268/.354/.345 batting line in 1992, and he also hit .238/.300/.302 in Yucatan in 19 games. Leyva hit .278/.389/.352 the Dos Laredos Tecolotes in 1993, and he also played 24 games in Saltillo in that season.
