Biographical Information

Shortstop George Spears played a dozen years of minor league ball, both before and after serving in the Army during World War II. Toward the end of his career, he was player-manager of the Baton Rouge Red Sticks of the Evangeline League for a season and a half. After his baseball days, he owned a construction company.
