Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher George Miller played 11 games for the Cincinnati Reds of the National League in 1877 and 6 games for the Cincinnati Red Stockings of the American Association in 1884. He was also an umpire in the National League in 1879.
Miller, who stood 5' 5" tall, was born in Newport, KY, right across the river from Cincinnati, OH. He died in Norwood, OH, a few miles northeast of Cincinnati.
He played for a number of minor league teams, including the one in 1877 in Springfield, OH which also featured Jack Glasscock.
The box scores of September 14 and 25, 1877 show him batting eighth in the lineup.
