Biographical Information[edit]
George Horine played left field for the US in the 1912 Olympics exhibition, going 0 for 1 with a run after replacing Frank Irons. He was more noted for his high jump prowess; he set a collegiate record in 1911 (6' 4") then shattered it in 1912 when he changed his technique (establishing what would become the more modern style), jumping 6' 4 3/4". He extended his record and set the world record later that year at 6' 7"; his record lasted until 1914. He only took a Bronze in the Olympics in the high jump, though.
