Biographical Information[edit]

On June 29, 1916, George Hesselbacher made his Major League debut at the age of 21 with the Philadelphia Athletics. He would end up seeing Major League action in that season only, starting 4 games and compiling an 0-4 record in 26 innings. He walked 22, struck out 6 and had an ERA of 7.27. He played his final game on July 19th.

Hesselbacher served as a commanding officer in the United States Army during World War I. After he died his body was laid to rest in Northwood Cemetery in Philadelphia.
