Biographical Information[edit]

George Handy played two seasons for the Memphis Red Sox of the Negro American League in 1947 and 1948. He then moved over to Organized Baseball, leading the Colonial League in hits while batting .346 for the Bridgeport Bees in 1949. He continued playing in the minor until 1955, including a couple of seasons with the St. Hyacinthe Saints of the Provincial League.
