Biographical Information[edit]
In 1987, Geno Petralli set the modern-day record with 35 passed balls in a season, including 6 in one game and 4 in a single inning. That latter record he shares with Ray Katt and Ryan Lavarnway. Geno's troubles were mostly the result of having to catch Charlie Hough's knuckleball.
Petralli became a coach with the Round Rock Express in 2016-2018 and Nashville Sounds in 2019.
Petralli's father, Gene Petralli, was a minor league first baseman 1948-1951, 1953. His son, Ben Petralli, was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 47th round of the 2007 amateur draft.
