Biographical Information[edit]

Gean Rigby has played in the minors and for the Nicaraguan national team.

Signed by the Oakland A's, he hit .207/.342/.260 for the 2014 DSL Athletics, followed by seasons of .199/.339/.213, .137/.292/.164 and .268/.364/.331. In that time, he had 88 walks in 616 plate appearances but not much else, batting .212/.340/.254; he fielded .930 in the outfield. In the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, he represented Nicaragua. Hitting 7th and used at DH in the opener against the Dominican national team, he was retired by Yelmison Peralta and Miguel Rosario before Edgard Montiel pinch-hit. He was 1-for-8 with a BB and a HBP, handling six putouts. His hit was off Iván Houellemont of Puerto Rico. [1]
