Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Gavin Wright played in the Houston Astros system from 1999 to 2005. He was drafted twice, initially by the Baltimore Orioles in the 32nd round of the 1997 amateur draft, then by the Astros in the 33rd round of the 1998 amateur draft.

The speedster stole 31 bases for the Martinsville Astros in 1999, hitting .309/.376/.432 in 61 games. He never again hit .300, but swiped 10, 26 and 21 bases in the succeeding years, respectively. He peaked at Double A, but spent most of his career at Single A.

Overall, he slashed .279/.332/.388 with 520 hits and 97 stolen bases in 503 games over 7 seasons.
