Biographical Information[edit]

Gavin Erasmus played for the South African national team. His sons Justin Erasmus and Bradley Erasmus also did so, while Justin played in the minors as well. [1] Gavin pitched for South Africa in the 1995 Intercontinental Cup, their first Intercontinental Cup. He was their first relief pitcher in an Intercontinental Cup when he relieved Alan Phillips in the 8th inning of the opener against Mexico, with his team down 8-2. He allowed three hits, a walk and three runs (two earned) in one inning, striking out one. He later took the loss to Puerto Rico. He finished the event 0-1 with a 19.29 in three games; his 2 1/3 IP were lowest on the staff, 1/3 behind Craig Poulton, though only Servas Niemand made more appearances. [2]
