Biographical Information[edit]

Craig Poulton pitched for the South African national team in the 1995 Intercontinental Cup. In his debut, he closed out a 14-0 loss to Japan, relieving Servas Niemand and allowing two hits in a scoreless inning, striking out Yuki Sugawara. In three games in that Cup, he walked six, struck out three and allowed three hits and two runs (both earned) in 2 2/3 IP. He tied Gavin Erasmus for second on the staff in games pitched, one behind Niemand, though he tied Erasmus for their fewest IP. Only Niemand had a lower ERA on their six-man staff.
