[edit]

The Gastonia Jets were a co-op team in the 1985 South Atlantic League. They replaced the Gastonia Expos in Gastonia, NC and would be replaced by the Gastonia Tigers. Without getting top prospects from any team, the club was just 44-93 under manager Bob McBee, the worst record in the SAL. The top player to come from the club was pitcher Ken Hill, who began his career with a 3-6, 4.96 season. The biggest name was Roberto Clemente Jr., who hit .186/~.262/.216 in 37 games.
