Biographical Information[edit]

Gaspard Fessy has been an outfielder for the French national team.

Fessy was on France's roster for the 2001 European Championship but the teenager did not get into a game. He was 2 for 13 in the 2002 World University Championship. In the 2003 European Championship, Fessy (who turned 20 during the tournament) was France's biggest offensive star. He went 12 for 32 with two doubles, a triple, two times hit by pitch, 5 runs and 3 steals in 5 tries. He was 9th in the tourney in average and slugging and ranked even higher in hits (12, tied with Cory Antony Harris and Sharnol Adriana and one behind co-leaders Erik Pappas and Xavier Civit). He was third in total bases, trailing only former minor leaguer Civit and former major leaguer Pappas. [1] He hit .200/.238/.250 in the 2003 Baseball World Cup; he had 12 putouts, one assist and no errors. [2] In the 2005 European Championship, he hit .323/.313/.355, led France with ten hits (2 ahead of Jamel Boutagra) and was second with 5 RBI (trailing Boutagra); he had 14 putouts and no errors. [3]

Gaspard played for FC Barcelona in 2007 and hit .313/.400/.438 with 11 runs and 11 RBI in 48 AB .[4] In the 2007 European Championship, he batted only .185/.258/.296 for France. [5]

He signed a contract with the Templiers de Sénart in Division Elite in 2008. [6] That season, he hit .248/.322/.324 with 24 runs and 22 RBI. [7]He led the Templiers in the 2008 European Cup in Regensburg, going 8 for 17 with 2 steals in 2 tries. He was 5th in average among players with 15+ AB in the tourney. [8] He was 0 for 12 in the 2009 European Cup in Mation. [9]

Fessy moved to the Tigers de Toulouse for 2009 then joined CB Sant Boi in Spain for 2010.

He grew up in Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert in France.
