Argentinian infielder Gabriel Sanso helped his country win the 2004 South American Championship, the nation's first outright title in a South American Championship. He signed with Spain's El Llano club for 2007. He hit .365 (12th in the Division Honor), slugged .447 (28th) and had a .471 OBP (8th). He also stole 16 bases in 18 tries. In 2008, Sanso batted .305/.468/.373 with 16 walks and 21 runs in 19 games for El Llano. In his third year, he fell to .245/.349/.277 and the club did not retain his services for 2010.

Sanso helped Argentina to a Bronze Medal at the 2010 South American Games, then was with the team for the 2010 Pan American Games Qualification Tournament and for a Gold in the 2011 South American Championship, when he was named the All-Star third baseman. He helped Argentina to two more Golds, in the 2012 South American Championship and 2013 South American Championship. He coached for Argentina in the 2019 Pan American Games, managed them to a Silver in the 2022 South American Championship and coached for them in the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers.
