Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Gabriel Rodriguez began his professional career in 2019 at 17 years old. He was signed by Cleveland Indians scout Hernan Albornoz.

He slashed .231/.321/.361 with 3 home runs, 39 RBI and 4 stolen bases between two clubs in 2019, then didn't play at all in 2020 due to the cancellation of the season. In 2021, he hit .236/.288/.314 with 3 home runs, 34 RBI and 3 stolen bases in 97 games for the Lynchburg Hillcats. In 2022, he hit .272/.344/.416 with 9 home runs, 38 RBI and 4 stolen bases in 94 games for the Lake County Captains. He began 2023 with the Double-A Akron RubberDucks.

He has been underwhelming defensively to date (July 2023), as his career fielding percentage at shortstop is .927, his mark at third base is .937 and his mark at second base is .913.
