Biographical Information[edit]

Fu-Chih Chien played in the CPBL for 6 years.

Chien was drafted by the Brother Elephants in the eighth round of the 2008 CPBL Draft, and he stayed in the minor league in 2009. He hit .199/.285/.255 with 12 steals in 2010, and he was 0-for-1 in the 2010 Taiwan Series. The Elephants swept the Sinon Bulls, and Chien won his first title. Due to his weak batting, he was demoted again, and he only had 17 at-bats combined in the next two seasons. He hit .308/.403/.476 with a league-leading 28 runs in the minors in 2012, and he broke the CPBL minors record with 28 steals (broken by Hsiao-Cheng Lin in 2020). Thus, he won a spot with the big club in 2013, and he hit .278/.312/.340 in 74 games. However, he slumped to .176/.263/.235 in 2014, and he announced his retirement in 2015.

Overall, Chien had hit .226/.289/.283 with 84 hits and 23 steals in 6 seasons in the CPBL.
