Biographical Information[edit]

Of his three career home runs, Fritzie Connally's first two were grand slams. After a 1-for-10, 8-game look with the Chicago Cubs in 1983, he enjoyed his last run with a 50-game stay with the Baltimore Orioles in 1985, retiring at season's end. His first grand slam came on April 19th that year at Exhibition Stadium off Doyle Alexander of the Toronto Blue Jays; the O's still lost, 6-5. The second came off Matt Young of the Seattle Mariners at the Kingdome, part of an 11-3 Oriole victory on May 17th.
