Biographical Information[edit]
Freddie Burdette pitched thirteen seasons in the Chicago Cubs organization, including parts of three seasons at the major league level. With the Cubs, he had one win and one save. The save came September 20, 1962 against the Philadelphia Phillies. He pitched the last two scoreless innings in the team's 4-1 victory as Cal Koonce got the win. His win came August 18, 1964, also against the Phillies. He pitched two innings of scoreless relief in the club's 4-3, 16-inning win. Following his baseball career, Burdette worked for UPS. He is the brother of Ricky Burdette and a distant cousin of Lew Burdette.
