Biographical Information[edit]

Franklin was one of more than 50 players used by the Washington Nationals of the short-lived Union Association, in 1884, many of them only once. This man played one game as an outfielder. There were no other players with the last name Franklin playing professionally at the time. There was, however, a player briefly with the Nationals named Frank Olin whose full first name was Franklin and who also played one game as an outfielder with the team. It is possible that the two are the same man, but proof of this is hard to come by.
