Biographical Information[edit]

Frank McKenna played one game as a first baseman for the Philadelphia Whites of the National Association in 1874, when he went 0 for 4 with a strikeout and 13 putouts. Nothing else is known about him, and in fact his playing record was for years merged erroneously with that of Ed McKenna, who played for the Washington Nationals in 1884,until SABR researchers found evidence that the two were discrete players (and indeed, that a third ballplayer named McKenna - Patrick McKenna - had had his playing record merged with that of Ed).
