Biographical Information

Frank Duncan played six years in the Negro Leagues. He is the son of Frank Duncan II. Frank debuted in 1940 with the Kansas City Monarchs as the backup to RF Ted Strong. The next year, he became a pitcher and formed a battery with his father, perhaps the first father-son battery in baseball history.

Duncan spent 1942 and 1943 in the Army. He then played four seasons with the Baltimore Elite Giants but saw limited action; John Holway lists him with no decisions any year while James Riley credits him with an 0-1 mark in 1945.

Riley listed Duncan as playing for the 1956 San Angelo Colts but he is not listed in Pat Doyle's Professional Baseball Player Database as playing for that team. It is possible he appeared in limited action.
