Florence Flame
Based in Florence, SC the Florence Flame were members of the short-lived Atlantic Coast League in its only season in 1995. The team went 7-10 in its limited lifespan and finished third in the four-team circuit. The Flame played at played at Legion Field and did lead the league in attendance in the shortened season. Their roster included local stars like pitcher John Wilder. Flame pitcher Adam Butler actually made it to the majors the following season as a member of the Atlanta Braves bullpen. The Flame was run by General Manager Mike Miras and Assistant GM Joe Fellini and led on the field by manager Mark McKnight. Both McKnight and Fellini currently work for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays organization as scouts with Fellini covering the Orlando market for the team and McKnight serving the east coast.
