Biographical Information[edit]

Felipe Castillo pitched in the minor leagues, Mexico and Taiwan.

Castillo was signed by the Texas Rangers in 1986, and he had a 7.98 ERA in 13 games for the GCL Rangers. He was 7-8 with a 7.36 ERA with the Gastonia Rangers in 1987, then he had a 5-10 record with a 2.78 ERA in 1988. He also started 4 games for the Port Charlotte Rangers, and he had a 4.76 ERA. Castillo then went 8-12 with AA Tulsa Drillers in 1989, and he tied Scott Lewis for 3rd in losses in the Texas League. He had a 2.35 ERA in 20 appearances for the Drillers in 1990, and his ERA was 3.45 in 20 games with AAA Oklahoma City 89ers.

The Wei Chuan Dragons of the CPBL signed him in 1993, and he had a 1.17 ERA in 4 games. He was 3-8 with a 4.76 ERA in 1994, then he returned to the Drillers in 1995; he had a 3.82 ERA in 17 games there. He then pitched for the Algodoneros de Unión Laguna in 1996 (0-1, 7.00) and the Piratas de Campeche in 1997 (0-1, 2.45). The Dragons signed him again in 1998, and Castillo was 3-2 with a 3.35 ERA. He allowed a run in 3 innings in the 1998 Taiwan Series Game 2, then he pitched 2 innings with a run allowed in Game 4. The Dragons beat the Sinon Bulls in 7 games. Castillo had a 3.18 ERA in 5 games for the Cafeteros de Cordoba of the Mexican League in 2001. He allowed six hits and four runs (one earned) in one inning over two outings for the Dominican national team in the 2001 Baseball World Cup.
