The Federación Mexicana de Béisbol oversees the Mexican national team, which has won Medals in several Pan American Games. The federation's president (Alonso Pérez) had a conflict with the Mexican League and Mexican Pacific League in the mid-2010s, resulting in the leagues' not allowing its players to appear for Mexico on the international stage. As a result, the Mexican teams in the 2013 World Baseball Classic and 2015 Premier 12 relied heavily on Mexican-Americans.
