Alonso Pérez
Alfonso Pérez González (El Teniente Coronel)
- Born ~1944
- Died September 9, 2016 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon Mexico
Alfonso Pérez was a long-time Mexican baseball official. He was head of the Federación Mexicana de Beisbol for 30 years, led the Mexican Sports Confederation for 12 years, was president of the Confederación Panamericana de Beisbol and was a vice president of the IBAF. He was noted for his conflict with the Mexican League and Mexican Pacific League, which resulted in the top stars of those leagues missing the 2013 World Baseball Classic and 2015 Premier 12 as Mexican teams had to rely on Mexican-American players or Mexicans active in the US leagues.
