Ernest Wright
Ernie Wright was the owner of the Pope Hotel in Erie, PA andof various other businesses including nightclubs, restaurants and pool halls, when put together the Cincinnati Buckeyes in 1942, which became the Cleveland Buckeyes from 1943 to 1948 and the Louisville Buckeyes in 1949, although he left the day-to-day running of the team to business manager Wilbur Hayes. For a period, he was the vice president of the Negro American League.
