Ernie Jacobs has been a midwest scout for the Boston Red Sox ( -2009) and Baltimore Orioles (2010- ). He signed Zach Daeges, Tommy Hottovy, Kris Johnson, Mike Lee, Freddy Sanchez and Dylan Bundy. He recommended the Boston Red Sox take Albert Pujols, but the Red Sox passed on Pujols. Jacobs had previously been a homicide investigator.
