Biographical Information[edit]

As a senior at Creighton, outfielder Zach Daeges hit .350 with 13 home runs and 49 RBIs, then was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the sixth round of the 2006 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Ernie Jacobs and made his pro debut that summer with the Lowell Spinners, hitting .288 with 4 homers and 32 RBIs and earning a spot on the New York-Penn League All-Star team. With the Lancaster JetHawks the following year, he hit .330 with 21 home runs and led the California League with 113 RBI, 124 runs scored, and 170 hits. He also tied a league record (held by Dick Wilson) with 55 doubles.
