The Erie Yankees were part of an unusual experiment in the Canadian League in 1914. The club was the sole American team in the 8-team league; the distance from all the other cities led to heavy financial tolls which negatively affected the circuit. In 1915 the club was the victim of contraction and their odd circumstances.
