Biographical Information[edit]

Eric Richardson played five seasons in the minors, peaking at A ball. A light-hitting speedster, he batted .236/.307/.280 in 359 games as a pro, with only four homers but with 111 steals in 152 tries. He stole 42 bases for the 1993 Hickory Crawdads. He played the outfield.

Richardson was the hitting coach for the Lakewood Blue Claws in 2004, GCL Phillies in 2005, and Batavia Muckdogs in 2006. In 2004 season he also served as the hitting coach for the Phoenix Desert Dogs of the Arizona Fall League. This three-year stretch was followed by a decade away from professional baseball. Richardson resurfaced in the Chicago White Sox organization in 2017-2018 as the Great Falls Voyagers hitting coach. His next hiatus was briefer, and he joined the Cincinnati Reds' organization as the hitting coach for the Chattanooga Lookouts in 2022, Dayton Dragons in 2023 and ACL Reds in 2024.

Richardson worked as a private hitting coach and instructor in the years he was not working in affiliated baseball.
