Biographical Information[edit]

Eric Pilkington pitched for four seasons in the minors.

Pilkington was taken by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 21st round of the 1985 amateur draft. He was 2-2 with a save and a 4.63 ERA that summer for the Helena Gold Sox, walking 33 and striking out 42 in 35 innings. He was then traded with Dean Freeland to the San Francisco Giants for Rob Deer. In 1986, Eric pitched for the Fresno Giants (1-1, 4.66 in 7 G, 15 BB in 19 1/3 IP) and the Clinton Giants (3-5, 2 Sv, 3.22, 90 K, 53 BB in 89 1/3 IP). The southpaw was 3-4 with a 3.77 ERA for Fresno in '87, walking 52 in 74 innings. He went 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA in six games for the 1988 San Jose Giants, walking 11 in 11 1/3 innings.
