Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Eric Fryer was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the tenth round of the 2007 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Mike Farrell and made his pro debut that summer with the Helena Brewers. He hit .335 with 10 home runs for the West Virginia Power in 2008, while leading the South Atlantic League in batting average. He was traded to the New York Yankees for Chase Wright on February 4, 2009 and began that season with the Tampa Yankees. On June 30th of that year, he was traded along with Casey Erickson to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Eric Hinske.

He reached the majors with the Pirates in 2011.

He started the 2016 season with the St. Louis Cardinals and became the first player in team history to get hits in his first 6 at-bats of the year.
