Biographical Information[edit]

Centerfielder Eric Burroughs played in the Cincinnati Reds system in 1989 and 1990 and in independent ball from 1995 to 1998. With the GCL Reds in 1989, he hit .347/.360/.405 with 20 runs, 7 stolen bases and just 2 walks in 29 games. In 1990, he hit .300/.329/.393 with 9 steals and 8 walks in 41 games for the Billings Mustangs. After a few years away from pro ball, he returned in 1995. That year, he hit .296/.380/.397 with 12 steals in 56 game between two clubs (he led the short-lived Atlantic Coast League with a .345 mark) and in 1996, he hit .306/.369/.375 with 37 stolen bases in 72 games for the Altoona Rail Kings. Back with Altoona in 1997, he hit .349/.403/.483 with 15 steals in 62 games. He wrapped up his career hitting .254/.324/.361 with 27 steals in 77 games between two clubs.

Overall, Burroughs batted .304/.361/.400 with 11 home runs, 138 RBI, 107 steals and 118 walks in 337 games over six seasons.
