Biographical Information[edit]
Erasmo del Monte was 2-1 with a 0.94 ERA (16 H, 5 BB in 28 2/3 IP) for the Cuban national team that won the 1942 Amateur World Series, leading the team in ERA when staffmates included future major leaguers Izzy León, Julio Moreno and Connie Marrero. He also was 3 for 13 at the plate. He was third in the event in ERA (behind Andrés Julio Báez and J.F. Hernández. He was 2-1 when Cuba won the 1950 Amateur World Series as well. In the 1951 Amateur World Series, Cuba took Bronze and he got the win over El Salvador in his lone decision.
