Biographical Information[edit]

Emil Moscowitz was a Jewish minor-league and semi-pro pitcher. For the Brooklyn Bushwicks from 1944 to 1946, he compiled a 47-15 record. Professionally, he pitched from 1929 to 1931, and 1949 to 1950, with unremarkable results in the first stint. In the second, he pitched in the Colonial League, with a 31-7 record and 1.83 ERA. In 1943 with Sullivan in the Brooklyn-Long Island Defense Baseball League, he had a 6-0 record in six games. He led the 1949 Colonial League in ERA and tied Phillip Frick and Ed Hrabczak for the win lead. He won a pitching Triple Crown in 1950 with 12 W, a 1.51 ERA and 102 K (tied with Denny Doyle). He set the league record for ERA.
