Emeron Lourens is the brother of Témesh Lourens, the nephew of Ritchie Daal and cousin of Randy Daal, Ricky Daal and Rodney Daal. Lourens hit .239/.279/.301 for Almere in the 2007 Hoofdklasse, playing for his uncle. He struggled with the glove, fielding .879 at short with 25 errors in 33 games. He had the lowest fielding percentage of the league's regular shortstops and had seven more errors than the runner-up, Petr Baroch.
